SWADESHI OVER VIDESHI
A young man Viz. Mulchand S. Jobanputra and his team were deeply inspired by the Swadeshi movement that had gained national prominence in the pre-independence era. They believed that the best quality desserts could be made using Indian ingredients alone.
Pampore Kashmir
THE KASHMIR CONNECTION
In those days, Mithai meant Milk & Sugar. EASTERN team's vision for premium quality meant they could use only farm-fresh, chemical-free milk to craft their Mithai. Consequently, they set up a factory in Andheri East, near a fresh milk farm, to avoid logistical issues. Their vision did not end there - they wouldn't rest until they revolutionised Mithai Making as an Art. Adding Rich Saffron to the mix did the trick. With the help of a few friends, they managed to source Premium Saffron from the Pampore fields in Kashmir. This is how the famous KESAR MALAI PEDA was born.

STOCKS & SCRIPS
The journey from art to business came a full circle in the era of stalwarts like Dhirubhai Ambani and others including the likes of Harshad Mehta who rocked the Bombay Stock Exchange. The EASTERN team decided to have their first store around this brimmimg spirit in Fort. Ever since, thanks to the love and affection of customers, the Malai Peda was fondly termed as the Eastern Peda and has been part of several birth announcements, office parties, stock market rises.

LOVE & LATA - The PEDDAROAD LINK
A little bit of honestly, little bit of aura and a little bit of luck had them set up the next store in the heart of Peddarroad where they were graced by the presence of the Nightingale of India, Late Mrs Lata Mangeshkar who in her humble ways inaugurated the store. As a team, we carry her love and blessings till today.
